AGM meeting November 24th 2004 (held at Latton Bush)
This was lively meeting with a record 26 interested parents (and swimmers) attending. Find below a summary of the outcome:-
* Minutes from the prior AGM held on Wednesday 26th November
2003 approved
* Wherever possible at least two weeks notice to be given to swimmers and
parents advising them of selection at a forthcoming swimming gala (and
wherever possible confirmation asap that swimmer can attend)
* Agreed that the website will advise when swim fees were due. Meeting was
reminded that these were announced already on Club nights and on the notice
board
* An update was given on tracksuits. It was agreed that instead of full
tracksuits it would be more affordable for all squad swimmers to purchase
tracksuit tops only. Guy Want has passed on a catalogue with suitable tops.
* Alan Canham gave an update re Red Lane swimmers swimming Tuesday and
Thursday evenings. The swimmers were paying extra quarterly fees plus paying
£2 per session to the pool - this changed Jan 2005 with no additional fees
paid to the pool.
* Alan Mitchell advised to the meeting that a Gala Secretary should ensure all
correct swimmers had entered appropriate licensed galas - at the moment we
have no dedicated such secretary with the forms currently being managed by Max
Francey and Ken Burley. To be discussed at next committee meeting
* Agreed we need a flag (for galas) - not quite sure next steps
* New constitution proposed by new Club Chairman Stephen Turner was accepted
at the meeting by a show of hands
* Swim 21 to be discussed at Club committee meeting
* The cost of hiring coaches to galas has increased - the next committee
meeting to discuss increasing charges to spectators and swimmers from £2 and
£1 respectively
* Accounts as presented by Alan Canham to be audited in line with ASA policy
At the meeting there was a Chairman's report from ex Chairman Paul Cooper,
Club Coach report from Alan Mitchell and a Treasurers report from Alan Canham.
