HHarlow Penguins Swimming Club

Harlow Penguin Open Meet 27th and 28th September

This was Harlows Penguins best Open meet in recent years. There were over 500 competitors from 24 teams swimming in excess of 2,500 individual races. The entries were so great that the 400m freestyle events were withdrawn and the number of 200m freestyle events and girls 100m IM events were limited.

We have certainly learnt a lot from the Open Meet weekend and we will make sure our learnings are incorporated into next years meet. Despite the high volume of swims we never overrun any session except the last where we finished at 5.20pm rather than 5pm. We have had a lot of emails from many clubs and referees congratulating us on how well everything went - a big thanks to all Harlow Penguin swimmers, coaches and helpers over those two days.

Congratulations to Killerwhales who were visiting team with most points winning £150 and Canvey Island who were visiting team with second most points winning £50.
