Epping Open Report (20th November 2005)
Club Coach Alan Mitchell proudly picked up the Top Club trophy at today's Epping Open meet. 28 Penguin swimmers cumulatively contributed enough points to beat the other eight or nine visiting clubs at this all day meet held at Epping's pool in Loughton. These included teams from Dagenham, Redbridge, Havering, Rochford, Beaconsfield, Colne, Hoddesdon and Epping Forest. Our swimmers swam in 102 competitive races. They achieved 19 first places out of a total 40 possible, they also gained 12 seconds and 6 third places. On the other end of the scales they also achieved 12 dqs which will be reviewed by the coaches to look for common and individual errors\faults.
Tom Burley (Top Boy - 5 wins out of 5) and Kaz Melvin (Top Girl 5 wins out of 5) won the other two trophies for the Penguins to return back to Harlow with a clean sweep.

Finally a big thanks to Eric (Starter), Hayley (Penguins official timekeeper), Alan (Club Coach) and Ken (Coach) for the their time in making sure all 30 Penguins were well looked after and encouraging lots of personal best times (plus medals!!)
