Time Trial January 28th 2005

67 swimmers, some as young as 7, swam in the first of this years time trials. Our strength in depth could be seen as the quality of the swims and the fact that we had 10 more swimmers competing this year than we did last year. These time trials are extremely important as it enables me to pick the strongest time for the forthcoming Junior Speedo galas plus it enables the coaches and swim teachers to identify technique weaknesses in individuals and groups. Of particular concern was the number of swimmers who would have been disqualified for screw kick in breaststroke if they had been competing properly. We will be concentrating on this over the next few weeks.

** One of the swimmers on my records was accidentally blotted by some water - I think it is Max McCusker can his parents confirm he took part in the time trials.
