Killerwhales Open Meet 2007
Young Penguins on fine form!
The Killerwhales Summer Meet was held on Sunday 24 June 2007.
17 Penguins competed at Thurrock throughout the day. All Penguins achieved personal best times on this very enjoyable meet, with some personal bests being beaten by more than 10 seconds!
Elise McCusker, Jasmine Hind, Redgi Keeble-Bradford, Victoria Tee, Alex Garcia, Dane Nicklen, Charlie Stevens and Tomas Stevens competed in the 10 year old age group.
Elise achieved 3 PB’s gaining a very respectable 7th place in the 100 IM just missing out on a medal. Redgi won 2 6th place medals and swam 3 pb’s. Dane also won 4th and 6th place medals in 50m Fly and Breast. While Charlie swam well in the 50m breast and picked up a bronze medal plus 3 other place medals. Tomas had a good day's swimming, winning an impressive 3 silvers and 1 Bronze medal.
In the 11 year old age group competing were Hannah Gladish, Sadie Clifton, Lara Titmuss, Luke Barnard, Luke Guerrati and Matthew Walton.
Hannah and Matthew achieved place medals in all their races swam and achieved 2 pb’s each. Sadie also won 2 place medals in the back and breast races and gained personal bests in the free and 100 IM.
Competing in the 12 year old age group were Victoria Malcolm and Danny Chan.
Victoria had a very successful meet winning 1 silver, 3 bronze and a 5th place medal she also gained personal bests in every race she swam. Danny improved his breaststroke time.
Adam Dunkley was our eldest swimmer on the day competing in the 13 year age group and racing 100m races. He also excelled himself and gained some excellent personal best times in all races swam.
I am sure all our swimmers had a very enjoyable day which was made even better by the fantastic job they did for the club not only in their swimming but by their behaviour and attitude on poolside.

Our thanks go to Ken, Luke, Mark and David for organising and motivating the Penguins poolside... and to Killerwhales SC for an excellent Meet. Definitely one to attend next year.
