Another Good Round for the Penguins Harlow Penguins Swimming Club put on another good show during the 3rd of 4 rounds of the Essex County Swimming Championships during the weekend of 8th and 9th March. Kaz Melvin 17 won silver in 100m Breaststroke in 1.18.13. Kaz pulled off an excellent 2nd place in the final after entering the final in 5th position. Senner Koskocan 12 competed in 6 events during the weekend achieving personal bests in every race swam. He won 3 4th places in 200m IM 2.38.23, 400m Free 4.52.71 and 100m Free 1.05.15. Senner also finished 7th in 100m fly 1.16.48, 8th in 200m fly 2.50.71 and 9th 100m back 1.15.99. Gaining 2 personal bests and East Region qualifying times in the 100m Free was Chris Stevens 13 who came 4th in 1.01.34. Chris also won 8th place in 100m back 1.12.32. Other Regional qualifying times and and personal bests were achieved by Alex Francey 15 in the 200m IM 2.59.71 which saw him come home in 7th place. Tomas Stevens 10, was another to gain a Regional qualifying time and personal best when he came 8th in 200m IM 2.59.97. Victoria Malcolm 12, swam 4 races during the weekend and she also gained personal best times in all her races. She swam 200m Free 2.29.00 (21st place) 400m IM 5.56.42 (21st) 100m IM 1.18.57 (19th) and 200m Fly 2.54.00 (11th) Also competing over the weekend were Craig Warwick 17 who gained a time of 59.45 secs in 100m Free (25th place), 100m Fly 1.04.20 (13th) and 200m IM 2.28.26 (19th). Tori Koskocan 10yrs swam 200m Backstroke 3.01.70 which gave her a new personal best time. Louise Kendall 17 came 14th in 200m Free 2.20.06. Mathew Walton 11 swam 200m IM 3.14.64 At the end of the weekend saw the Penguins lying in 9th position out of the 27 Essex clubs competing in the Championships |
