On Saturday and Sunday, 14th and 15th March 2009,
seven Harlow Penguin swimmers took part in the Borough of Waltham Forest

Chloe Scott: this was her first open gala and she rose
to the challenge and competed in 100m Backstroke for 11 year olds
(2.10.32) and 100m Breaststroke (2.13.96). Chloe now has two good
times to work on and we look forward to seeing her in future galas.

good personal best times. In the 100m Breaststroke she came 4th in the 12
year olds in 1.33.98 (4 sec PB) and 15th in the 100m Freestyle in 1.16.43

personal best times. In the 200m freestyle for age 11 boys he came 10th

the 12 year old 100m freestyle, coming 13th in a time of 1.17.57 (3 second PB)
He was less fortunte in the 100m IM, having swum a
good time of 1.30.98 (5 sec PB) the judges didn't know what to make of his new
style turn and disqualified him.
Danny Chan: Danny is always a strong competitor and he
came away with a 6th place in the 13 year old boys 100m freestyle in 1.10.02 (2
sec PB) and an excellent 4th place in the 100m breast stoke in 1.32.95 (6 sec

three events; 1.21.76 in the 14 year old 100m fly (4 sec PB), 1.18.10 in the
100m backstroke (7 sec PB) and 1.19.35 in the 100m IM (2 sec PB). He was
