Bishops Stortford Open - 23rd January 2010 Seven Harlow Penguins swimmers swam at the Bishops Stortford 200m open meet on Saturday 23rd January 2010 and they all came away with medals and excellent personal best times. Ellis Singleton (14) started the team off with a gutsy performance in the 200m Butterfly and was rewarded with a bronze medal. He added two more bronze medals to his collection in the 200m backstroke and 200m Freestyle. Georgia Andrew (13) and Jasmine Hind (12) knocked seconds off their times in the 200m IM. Jasmine gained a silver medal in her age group and went on to gain two fourth places in 200m Freestyle and 200m Backstroke both in improved personal best times. Georgia came second in the 200m IM, 3rd in 200m Freestyle, 2nd in 200m Backstroke and 3rd in 200m Breaststroke. Our swimmer of the Year Emily Poolman (10) competed in a tough old age group and picked up a medal in the 200m breaststroke. Bradley Veitch (10) competed in two events and managed an impressive 4th place in the 200m Breaststroke. Kyle Panton (14) showed his strength lies in distance events and he came away with two silver medals in the 200m IM and 200m Breaststroke plus a 4th place in the 200m breaststroke.
